Stoke Newington is the new Aldwych and this is its first real gastropub. It's the best for miles around, and handsome both outside and inside following a smart makeover by the new owners the very experiance Gregory and Patrick Wright. The food straddles the British camp, featuring Arbroath smokies with garlic soldiers and roast rump of lamb with butter bean stew and rosemary puree, and is delicious.
